I'm working up an article and I might as well crowd source some fact checking here so I don't miss anything — what was the most successful individual chassis in 24 hours of le mans history?

Was there any individual car that won more than two races? There's one I can think of (pictured above) and one that I'm thinking of that I won't mention.

Outright wins or would class victories count? I think there's a 911 or two that might have won their class a few times. And what about the corvettes? Were they built on a new chassis every year?

After my two minute research I'm guessing Alfa Romeo 8C 2300. It won 4 times but I'm not sure if it was the same chassis. I've made this list of Le Mans winners by engine type if that's any help at all.

Every history I've read says GT40 1075 is the only multiple winner. If there's another that's been lost to history, I'd love to know about it!

interesting, it appears there was some lawsuit over this? the '30 winner was a total rebuild of the '29, with almost nothign being carried over. Interesting.

There's also the Lorraine-Dietrich B3-6 which probably did, but I can't find any confirmation that they used the same chassis for both of their wins.

Bentley chassis "Old number one" won in both 1929 and 1930 so technically bentley did it before ford. But other than that I think it is one of the few other individual chassis to win outright more than once.

Didn't one of the Audi's? Like the R8s or something? I remember that one of the engines was used also in the Bentley but I guess that doesn't count does it?

D-Types.
